Description
Ten years on from the Acheson Report and with the ambitious 2010 deadline fast approaching, this timely conference, hosted by the Centre for Parliamentary Studies, provides an invaluable opportunity for local authorities, practitioners and stakeholders to consider the outlook for achieving fairer health outcomes for all. The conference will address the role of local government and collaborative partnerships in supporting and promoting healthier lifestyles within disadvantaged communities, especially the hardest to reach.
During the day, participants will examine how to provide accessible and innovative NHS services, free from discrimination and shaped around the needs of the individual and the community. The conference will also consider how to reduce infant mortality rates and ensure every child has the best start in life through delivering informative and supportive services for families at risk. Delegates will have the opportunity to debate, network and share practical and innovative solutions to address local health needs.
